How I Dropped a Hair Dryer… and Accidentally Remodeled My Entire Bathroom (ADHD Story — Part 1)

Welcome to Part 1 of my ADHD Bathroom Remodel Series…

Also known as:

How one tiny household accident turned into a full-blown renovation nobody asked for… but here we are.

💥 The Incident

It all started when I dropped my hair dryer into the sink.

Now normally?

👉 little clunk
👉 small panic
👉 life goes on

Not this time.

This time… it punched a full hole through the sink.

I just stood there like:

“Well… that wasn’t good.”

🧠 Enter ADHD Mode

I offered to fix it.

But because I have ADHD…

“fix it” did NOT mean replace the sink and move on.

No no.

It meant entering a state I call:

✨ Beautiful, unhinged determination ✨

I measured the sink.

Then again.

Then again.

Then five more times like I didn’t trust reality.

🔥 The Upgrade Spiral

I found a new vanity top.

It was beautiful.

Clean.

Upgraded.

Installed it.

Stepped back.

And immediately realized…

The rest of the bathroom looked like it gave up on life.

The sink = thriving queen 💅

The bathroom = emotional support room

💀 And Then It Happened

My brain said:

👉 “The walls don’t match.”
👉 “The floors don’t match.”
👉 “The tile doesn’t match.”
👉 “We should fix everything.”

And just like that…

I was in a full bathroom remodel.

🎯 ADHD Reality Check

This is how it happens.

You don’t start a project.

You trigger a chain reaction.

One tiny problem turns into:

👉 a full upgrade
👉 a new identity
👉 a trip to Home Depot where you suddenly care about paint finishes

💬 The Result

Was it planned?

No.

Was it logical?

Also no.

Am I proud of it?

Absolutely.

🧠 What This Actually Cost Me

Not the sink. Not the vanity top.

The time.

I never decided to remodel a bathroom. It just… happened, one “while I’m at it” at a time. That’s the part nobody warns you about — a spiral doesn’t feel like time passing until it’s already gone.

👉 That’s the exact thing Push IT was built to show you
👉 New here? Start with What Is Time Blindness?
👉 the time ADHD nearly set my kitchen on fire
👉 why “I’ll do it later” isn’t laziness

🚨 Before You Leave

If this story felt a little too familiar…

👉 You’re going to want these next:

👉 More ADHD chaos stories (you’ll feel seen immediately)
👉 Why your time disappears (and how to fix it)
👉 The tool that shows where your time actually goes

Because once you understand the pattern… everything starts making sense.

Part 2: What happened AFTER I committed to the remodel…

(Spoiler: it escalates.)

“Why? Because Tarah said so.”
